Install Trailer Jacks to save your back - just start cranking!
If you have a trailer, one of the first accessories you will be looking for
is trailer jacks. A good trailer jack will save your back from constantly
lifting up the tongue of your trailer when connecting and disconnecting it.
Marine jacks are designed to be bolted onto the side of a boat trailer. Most of
these also have a caster mounted to the bottom so that you can easily roll the
front of the trailer side to side as your are hooking it up. This makes it
easier to get your boat hitched up. This type of jack also has a durable coating
applied to the metal to keep the rust at bay.
A top mount jack is typically used on a utility type trailer. They usually do
not come equipped with wheels or casters. They simply allow you to raise and
lower the tongue of your trailer.
Side mount jacks have become popular through the RV industry where you might not
have the room for a top mount. These fasten to the side of the trailer to allow
you to raise and lower it. Wheels are usually not included - as these are used
mostly for leveling your trailer.
