Saab Trailer Hitch Comes Standard on SUV
Well, a lot has happened to the Saab trailer hitch in this last year. It has come a long way and it has HAD to do so in order to stop Saab customers from defecting in order to buy SUVs. This behavior by previously loyal Saab customers caused the company to rethink the line of cars available on the American market.
The new Saab SUV, the 9-7x is this European car manufacturer's answer to the American desire for more of everything. The 9-7x comes standard with a hitch receiver and hitch receiver cover and the tow capacity has jumped, with this new model, to a very respectable 6,500lbs for the V8.
This gives serious towing types the opportunity to own a Saab and tow a boat or camping trailer with ease. Previous Saab models had to be fitted with special Saab Class II tow packages that had much less tow potential.
Older Saabs, like the 9-3 and 9-7 can still attach a neat, corrosion resistant, receiver type tow package that has a tow capacity of 3,500lbs with trailer brakes and 1,000lbs without. This tow package comes at quite a hefty price, somewhere in the region of $400, but it is removable and out of the way and of course offers that Saab style and dependability that keeps customers loyal.
The Saab trailer hitch on all models can accommodate bike and ski rack attachments, typical accoutrements for sporty Saab loyalists who love European style and quality coupled with versatility.
