Many decorative hitch plugs are available on the market today for your trailer hitch. They are called hitch plugs because the plug into the receiver portion of your hitch. You can buy them with everything from college logos, truck manufacturer, or your favorite hobby proudly displayed on your receiver hitch.

Electrical plugs or decorative plugs for your trailer hitch

If you are looking for an electrical hitch plug for you trailer lights, things can get a bit more complicated. There are many different plug connectors available. The number of connectors or poles will determine how many lighting functions you will have on your trailer. Many trailers use a simple 4 pole plug that controls the brake light and turn signals on your trailer. If you also have running lights or other accessories, you will probably need a 6 pole wiring harness.

It is best to select the wiring harness plug for your hitch based on the type of adaptor currently on your trailer. You will also need to check your vehicle as many of them already have some type of wiring plug harness installed under the bumper.
