ATV Receiver Hitch: Extending the Fun

Attaching an ATV receiver hitch to your toy is one way to extend the fun capacity of the whole exercise. You will be able to do so many things now. Not only can you challenge the terrain and win but you can take stuff along with you. This means you won't have to return to base camp until you are absolutely ready.

Any good ATV can carry up to 850lbs GTW. That is a lot of stuff. Granted, it's not a camper trailer but extreme sports people are not camper trailer people. This is not an issue for you. What you want is a good tow hitch that is as rugged and hardwearing as the vehicle it is attached to.

Do check your owner's manual though. You will need confirmation of the weight capacity of your vehicle. Then you will need to check the weight capacity of the trailer. You'll need a match, something that can take the weight without taking all the fun out of the all terrain lifestyle.

You will have two general choices when you purchase a receiver hitch: whether to go for the one custom designed for your vehicle or whether to purchase one of the popular universal receiver hitches that fit on all ATVs that accept a trailer ball.
